If you do so, People would love your blog and articles.

While writing any article, It may drop the quality because of lac of knowledge but still these articles can be optimized for specific keywords for search engines. Also remember, Every blog post is like a web page in terms of search engine ranking.

    1. Keyword Research

Beginners hardly do keyword research but this is also the first strategy of all pro-bloggers. Keyword research gives an Idea of what people are searching on the internet. It can also helps to know, what people care about so that you can write article on it.

It is one of the most important, valuable, and high return activities in the search marketing field. Also ranking for the right keywords can make or break your website.

By doing this activity, You are not only learning which terms and phrases to target for SEO but also learning more about your customers as a whole. Keyword research is not always about getting visitors to your site, but about getting the right kind of visitors

Keyword research isn't just about verifying how many searches a particular keyword has — it's also about exploring the many varied ways that people use language to research an idea or topic.

There are also many tools available in the marketplace that helps to do keyword research but most common tools which are used by many other bloggers are Google keyword planner tool, SEMrush, and LongTailPro. Instead of Google keyword planner tool, Both the other tools are paid but also they are advanced than Google keyword planner tool.

Keyword research is not a just small topic but instead of it, It is broad in itself so I will cover this topic in my another article with brief and full of information.

    2. Title

A title tag is an HTML element that specifies the title of a web page. Title tags are displayed on search engine results pages (SERPs) as the clickable headline for a given result and are important for usability, SEO, and social sharing. The title tag of a web page is meant to be an accurate and concise description of a page's content.

Mainly there are two types of title in the blogging field, First Post Title, and another Meta Title. The post title is for readers or visitors, I mean how they see the title of the post on your blog. The meta title is for Search engines, I mean how search engines show your post in search results.

Generally, Your post title will be treated as the meta title if you are using Blogger platform and also in WordPress & other platforms, If not specified a meta title in your SEO settings.

To rank your article in the search engine, It's recommended and important to have your keywords in the meta title and also you need you to need to concentrate on the optimal title length.

Google typically displays the first 50–60 characters of a title tag. If you keep your titles under 60 characters, our research suggests that you can expect about 90% of your titles to display properly. There's no exact character limit because characters can vary in width and Google's display titles max out (currently) at 600 pixels

    3. Description

Meta descriptions are HTML attributes that provide concise summaries of webpages. They are between one sentence to a short paragraph and appear underneath the blue clickable links in a search engine results page (SERP). However, depending on a user's query, Google might pull meta description text from other areas on your page (in an attempt to better answer the searcher's query).

Have you searched anything on Google, Yahoo or other search engines? If Yes then Can you tell me, How you decide to open any website from the search result. Off course, Your answer would be first Title and other Descriptions. Am I right?

Meta descriptions are very important. It helps people to make a decision while they are searching for something on any search engine like Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc after the title. Right meta descriptions attract visitors on your blog.

Also having your Keyword in meta descriptions can boost your article or post ranking in any search page but keep in mind the optimal length of meta descriptions.

Meta descriptions can be any length, but Google generally truncates snippets ~300 characters. Keep in mind that the "optimal" length will vary depending on the situation, and your primary goal should be to provide value and drive clicks.

    4. Permalinks

Permalinks are the permanent URLs to your individual pages and blog posts, as well as your category and tag archives. A permalink is the web address used to link to your content. The URL to each post should be permanent and never change — hence the name permalink.

By default,  Permalinks generated automatically while writing article depending on your Post title and Like our post titles usually come with lots of stop words so Permalinks too.

Stop words are extremely common words that most search engines skip over in order to save space in their databases, and speed up crawling/ indexing. ( To get a comprehensive list of stop words: Just click here and here.)

To make you better understand let me explain with an example. For example, you are writing an article which has the title "The Guide To Keyword Research" then Your default article permalink would be "yoursite.com/the-guide-to-keyword-research.html".

"The" and "To" are the stop words in the above example. Keep in mind, Every platform allows you to edit your Permalinks structure. Just click on edit permalink and change the permalink to "keyword-research.html", thus eliminating the stop words.

    5. Heading

HTML defines six levels of headings. A heading element implies all the font changes, paragraph breaks before and after, and any white space necessary to render the heading. The heading elements are H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, and H6 with H1 being the highest (or most important) level and H6 the least.

Most of the bloggers think Headings are used for only styling to make blog post or article looks good to their readers but that's not true, It has also an important role in SEO so don't make yourself a fool with these heading tags.

When heading tags are used in a proper way then It boosts your ranking in search engines in a separate way. By default, The post title is used as H1 Heading Tag. Also according to the SEO community, it’s a good idea to use your keywords in H1, H2, and H3 tags.

Headings are also very important for accessibility! Screen readers try to leverage the layout of a document when determining how to present it to the user in a sane manner – one feature being the ability to list and skip between headings.

If you don’t use headings or use them in a non-semantic manner (incorrect order, missing H1 before H2, etc.) then you’re forcing these users to read the entire document from start to finish with few useful means of skipping through.

Keeping these users in mind is – to me – one of the best ways to decide on how to place headings on your page and in your content.

    6. Image

Google can't read images so to make them understand what is your image about, Just use the appropriate name instead of "image006.png", "image002.jpg" etc.

The name should be relevant to the image itself and also I recommend you to use "alt (alternate text) attributes" on the image. This way, when people search for an image at Google Image Search, they will land on an image in one of your blog posts.

The required alt attribute specifies an alternate text for an image, if the image cannot be displayed. The alt attribute provides alternative information for an image if a user for some reason cannot view it (because of slow connection, an error in the src attribute, or if the user uses a screen reader).

I have also seen positive results when using keywords in image anchor text (when naming an image), so you should at least use keywords in your image alt text.

    7. Length

There is no maximum word limit but the minimum length of the article should be 700 words and also When done lots of research on article length that which works best on Google search page then researchers found, the average word count of a Google first page result was 1,890 - 2450 words

While writing an article, You should always use your focused keyword in that article with 1-3% of keyword density along with "semantic keywords" and LSI keywords. Google suggests writing natural articles. Again, there is no ideal percentage, but placing your keyword in natural places will work the best.

Also, avoid keyword stuffing. Keyword stuffing is a search engine optimization (SEO) technique, considered webspam or spamdexing, in which keywords are loaded into a web page's meta tags, visible content, or backlink anchor text in an attempt to gain an unfair rank advantage in search engines.

Keyword stuffing may lead to a website being banned or penalized on major search engines either temporarily or permanently. The repetition of words in meta tags may explain why many search engines no longer use these tags.

    8. Linking

There are two types of linking here, First Internal and the another External. Internal Links are hyperlinks that point at (target) the same domain as the domain that the link exists on (source). External Links are hyperlinks that point at (target) any domain other than the domain the link exists on (source).

Keep in mind, Internal link should be do-follow and External links should be no-follow. Well, by default all internal links and external links are do-follow.

Internal linking has three main purposes: Aids in website navigation, Defines the architecture and hierarchy of a website and Distributes page authority and ranking power throughout the site.

Most of the pro-bloggers advice to keep Internal and External links in proportions ratio to increase the SEO value of your blog which is also a good idea but one thing I wanna tell here, There’s no fixed number of internal links that you should add to your website. If the links are relevant, add them and Make sure all links look natural on your pages.

Once you have decided which links should be on a page and which pages should get link value, it’s important to use the right anchor text. The anchor text is the clickable text that visitors see.

    9. Backlinks and Link Building

This point should not be here but It's important to boost your blog and SEO value so I have added this on this article. actually, this point should be in the SEO section.

Backlinks are the incoming links to a webpage. When a webpage links to any other page, it's called a backlink. In the past, backlinks were the major metric for the ranking of a webpage. A page with a lot of backlinks tended to rank higher on all major search engines, including Google.

Backlinks are still the major metric for the ranking of a webpage but If you receive these links from Authoritative website or blogs. If you are receiving backlinks from non-authoritative website or blogs then it's useless and won't help you to rank higher in search engines.

Link building is the process of getting links from high authority sites, quality sites, and relevant/related sites. The focus is on the quality and relevancy of links. More than that, the diversity of links plays a significant role in higher search engine ranking.

Link building is an important part of search engine optimization. In general, the popularity of a website or blog is determined by the number of inbound links. The number of inbound links from quality websites is also a big factor in determining your Google Page Rank (PR).

Backlinking is done for building link so that increase more & more traffic . on the other view, Seo Backlinking is done for increasing the Traffic & Search Engine Ranking. Link building is the process of creating links in order to promote a website and to improve rankings in the 'search engine results pages' (SERPs).

    10. AB Testing

Finally, after finishing your article, You can start A/B testing (sometimes called split testing) with your article title and descriptions.

In this case, A/B testing is comparing two different - different title or description to see which one performs better.

Let me explain my words with some examples to make it easier to understand. Let's take example of this article. The title of this article is "10 important things to write perfect SEO optimized article" but instead of It, The Title can be "How to write SEO article", "How to write SEO optimized article", "How to write SEO article for Blog" and so on.

The title can be anything from the above example but they may not have the same result in search page. Who knows which title perform better? Who knows which title can get high rank? Who knows which title can generate good traffic and something else. Also same goes with descriptions.

AB testing allows you to know which title or descriptions is performing better. If your previous title or descriptions not performing well then you can also change it but keep in mind, I am not recommending to change your Permalinks.

    Summary

If you follow all the points which are described in this article then I can definitely say that your article would get high rank on the search result in no time. Keep in mind, Write always quality content on your blog that values for your readers.

Final Checklist: Do keyword research before writing an article then write quality article that people care about, Use Keywords in Title ( 50 – 60 characters ) and descriptions ( ~300 characters ), Remove stop words from Permalinks, Add Alt Tag in Image, Add relevant links, Write long article, Get backlinks from authority sites, Use link building strategy and Do AB testing with article title & descriptions.
